Requirements for using the T-Mobile Hotspot
service

|
|
|
To
purchase any of the equipment you will require to use the hotspot

If
you own a laptop check to see if has an Intel Centrino chip
- it should display the logo shown right: |

|
|
| Centrino
enabled laptops are pre-configured and you should get access
to the T-Mobile
service straight away. Older laptops will require a Wireless
PC card for the service to work such as the one displayed right – (these
can be purchased at the MCom online shop – www.mcomwifi.com
and click on the Texaco logo) |

|
You
can also run the service on a desktop computer using a PCI
card like the one shown right.

Computer Settings
|

|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
You can use any standard internet browser
on any laptop based operating system. Before you open your browser
please ensure that your machine is configured correctly.
The following instructions are based on the Windows XP operating
system. Settings for other windows based systems are very similar.

|
|
To confirm your SSID settings, follow
these steps:

1. Click Start

| 1. Open your Browser and go to the ‘Tools’ menu 2. Select ‘Internet Options’ and then click
on the ‘Connections’ tab
3. Under ‘LAN Settings’ open the window for ‘Local
Area Network (LAN) settings’
4. Ensure that the following options are not selected:
• ‘Automatically detect settings’
• ‘Use automatic configuration
script’
• ‘Use a proxy server for your
LAN’
Click OK to confirm.

Getting Connected
|

| Once your computer
and browser are configured launch your internet browser.
The T-Mobile Hotspot splash page will appear automatically.
Type in the username and password that has been provided
to you in the fields on the left and you are ready to go!
